Egg rate today in Vijayawada
Loading today's rates…
What this rate means
The National Egg Coordination Committee (NECC) announces a suggested wholesale price per egg for each production zone every morning, quoted in paise. It is the benchmark that traders, wholesalers and large buyers use to settle the day's deals. The rate above is that number for Vijayawada, converted for the units people actually buy in.
- 1 tray = 30 eggs. A household typically buys 1–2 trays a week.
- 1 case (peti) = 7 trays = 210 eggs. Hotels, hostels and bakeries order by the case.
- Retail shop prices run roughly ₹1–1.50 per egg above the NECC rate; home delivery adds a little more.
Why the rate moves
Prices climb in winter and during festival months when demand rises, and dip in summer heat when consumption falls. Feed costs (maize, soya) and bird health in the main producing belts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Tamil Nadu move the rate week to week.
